What is work-life balance? It is a concept that properly prioritizes or balances "work" (#OolaField or your career) and your "lifestyle" (#OolaFitness, #OolaFinance, #OolaFamily , #OolaFaith, #OolaFriends, and #OolaFun). Similar to a ballerina shifting her weight to different areas to move fluidly or a business balance sheet which has two sides that must be equal or balance each other out. Balancing your #OolaLife is the same. And “ balancing ” is the key term as it is impossible to address all areas at once , but it becomes easier to manage once it is broken down.     In Oola , we want you to follow your passions and purpose in life. If you have a job, we want you to love your work or at the very least do it with integrity. However, the question “what is a healthy level of work-life balance ” could mean different things to different people.   Here are some questions to consider. Are you dominated by work? Are you surrounded by people who make you better? Do you set boundaries and enforce them? Are you realistic when it comes to time management? Are you efficient at work? Why are you doing the work that you do? What inspires you? What are your unique strengths? What is the quality of your life? What are your unique strengths and are you using them at work and/or home?   After you answer these questions, try to categorize the answers into groups (yes, no, don’t know, and explanation answers). Then look at your answers and determine which answers you would like to change. The small things matter and when you spend the time to reflect you may find the balance that works perfectly for YOU.  Here are 7 strategies to optimize work-life balance: Work: 1.       Set work goals (write them down) 2.      Be efficient 3.      Be flexible 4.      Take breaks & lunch 5.      Find a mentor (someone inspiring) 6.      Listen to music 7.       Have fun      Life: 1.      Unplug from social media (yes, go off the grid) 2.      Don’t over schedule 3.       Communicate your needs 4.      Be physically active (in some way) 5.      Eat well 6.      Rest 7.      Ask for help when you need it Have you spent the time to do a self-assessment to find out where you are strong and where you are weak?  OolaCorporate Training’s Free Business Evaluation Test below can help you determine how well your business and life are in or out of balance.
