When people think of someone as successful, they think of a large bank account, big beautiful house and a fancy car, all material possessions. By definition, success means “the accomplishment of an aim or purpose”, “the attainment of popularity or profit”, “a person or thing that achieves desired aims or attains prosperity”.
The true measure of success is really dependent on many different things not simply monetary or material possessions. How would it feel to have a great paying job, big beautiful home, fancy car, but no one to share it with? Or work so hard to create the perfect life that you forget to actually live your life?
In Oola, success is measured on your life overall in the 7 key areas – Fitness, Finance, Family, Field (which is your career), Faith, Friends and Fun. When your life is balanced and growing in these 7 areas you are living a life that feels amazing. That is a successful person. Think about it for a second, you are in optimal health/weight, you are debt free and living abundantly, you have an inner circle/family/relationship where you are supported, you are pursuing your purpose in life doing a job you love, your Faith is strong and your beliefs guide you, you have empowering and supportive friends that only want the best for you and you are having fun in the process. That is someone that has success. Success is measured not just in your Field (career), but also in life.
How does this happen? How can someone create a life that is balanced and constantly growing? Look at the 7 key areas in your life. Where are you today? Where do you want to go? How are you going to get there? Figure out where you are, decide where you really want to be in that specific area and set a (SMART) goal and then come up with an action plan to make it happen. It requires work, but it’s simple enough.
What would it look like if you had all successful employees (success as measured by Oola) working for your company/organization?
