Life can be challenging at times, which perhaps is the biggest understatement of the year! I believe most people have pure intentions and goodness in their hearts. People in general want to be actively pursuing their dreams while being a good spouse, friend, parent, sibling, boss and coworker. Pick any other of the countless hats we wear. We face constant challenges that if we allow them, they undermine our dreams and ambitions . How do we overcome those challenges? First, lets begin by understanding that it’s not your fault! While I am a huge advocate of taking personal responsibility for everything in your life, there are some things that have been hardwired into our brains. Our culture and anthropological development gear us to be inherently negative. During our hunter gather days as a species, we never knew where our next meal would come from or if we ourselves would become the hunted. This resulted in fear and anxiety. It also began the negative wiring of our subconscious minds. In our modern world, “if it bleeds, it leads” is the motto for news organizations. Therefore, they highlight the worst parts of human behavior. Conflict sells and divisiveness rules the day. Is there any wonder why we have trouble believing in our dreams and why we live with so much self-doubt, uncertainty and fear? Now look, my intention is not to depress you or to tap into your negative feelings , but rather to point out that we are capable of so much more, individually and collectively. Let me explain. Human beings are remarkable. We can do anything! Often times overcoming ridiculous odds and obstacles. We have all seen videos or read articles about someone who did something remarkable. Google it! You will be blown away by these stories. How is this possible if we are inherently wired to be negative? Simple. They tapped into the superpowers. You mean like captain marvel and superwoman? Well, you might not be able to fly, but you are certainly capable of extraordinary things. So how can we tap into our superpowers? First, you must adopt an unwavering belief in YOU ! If you don’t, who will? Second, when you feel like giving up, take one more step. This is typically when breakthroughs occur. Third, surround yourself with other super heroes. These are people who dream big and act big. We are a product of the people we hangout with, therefore choose wisely. Next, be bold! No one ever achieved anything of value by thinking small .

Lastly, create an environment that helps reveal your superpowers. Be honest and act with integrity. Eliminate mental and physical clutter and take care of YOU. Feed your body and mind with nourishing food and thoughts. Get plenty of rest and don’t over indulge. A super hero would never think of doing that. Live the like a superhero and watch yourself accomplish, overcome and persevere.
